Avoid Those Car Rental Traps in Your Next Vacation
Last month, a friend of mine rented a car in Germany and after returning it in its original condition, his credit card was charged 1200 euros 2 weeks after. A few years ago, my husband and his parents rented a car in South Africa, with a little damage on the car due to a parking error, they were charged for 4000 US Dollar. It is either about the charges too high, or not explained with details, or about charges on damages which the customer was not even aware of.
After digging into car rental companies, I learned so much more about how they take advantages of customers. Their most revenues come from at-counter sales, not from the rental income itself. Those include additional services, additional insurances and post rental charges. You can buy the full coverage insurance from them to avoid any charges afterwards, but do you know, that the cost of this kind of insurance is much higher than when you would normally pay from an insurance company or you might even get it from your credit…
